Within the past few years social media, more specifically Facebook; has grown to phenomenal new heights. With nearly one billion fans across the world and users logging in up to three or four times a day it is clear that this social site has become central to our everyday lives and with statistics now revealing that an increasing number of people seek product and service recommendations via Facebook pages; the site is now pivotal to business success and online marketing.

Online consultants will constantly reiterate the importance of marketing a business, big or small, on the internet; in order to remain competitive in such a difficult market and will emphasise just how important social media profiles now are to achieving online success. By creating a profile; businesses are in a far suited position to see brand growth and an improvement in customer relations.

It is evident to state that Facebook is now a key player in the way our world runs however, it looks like it might be on the verge of receiving far too much prominence. According to the latest reports; Facedeals could be on their way to a store near you…and not for purchase. What are Facedeals? Well, believe it or not they are controversial new security cameras that will recognise shop customers by their Facebook photograph!

The new system, currently being tested; aims to create a whole new meaning to the 'check-in' and although has not been produced in partnership with Facebook; hopes to scan the faces of customers who sign up to the service on the social site, in a bid to offer them a deal the moment they walk into a store, club or restaurant.

We're not sure what you think but in our opinion; that might be a little too much Facebook for us.
