So ok, you have a good social media presence and have set up a range of social profiles on sites including Facebook and Twitter in an effort to grow your customer base, improve your brand image, customer relations and ultimately drive traffic to your website but now what? It is all good and well when online marketing experts forcefully shove the importance of social media, down your throat but how many of them stick with you to help you make them a success? Unfortunately in such a competitive market there do not seem to be many that do but luckily we are on hand to help provide the right support to ensure your online profiles don't dry out faster than a piece of KFC in the Sahara desert.

The ultimate route to social success can be summed up in one word; 'inspiring' and that's what your business needs to be. Before you begin to argue about how your industry sector is boring; anyone can inspire with a little creativity. Think of all the times you have seen friends and family members share, repost and re-tweet something on one of these social sites; it was most often done because the image, or words were relatable or inspiring so first things first; get that salesman attitude and throw it out of the window!

Those who think that a social profile is a great platform for throwing out call to actions and selling products need to think again. Social media profiles should be nothing more than a way to talk to people and expand your business name. Whether you are a finance company, retailer or within the legal business; by using quirky images, quotes and stories (that do not have to be related to your industry) you can draw in a horde of followers regularly and get people really talking about your brand.

Statistics have revealed that people log on to social media profile several times a day and turn to these for recommendations and opinions and even to solely seek out companies; which is why it is so important that you ensure you become likeable…if people don't like you then odds are they will immediately shy away. Naturally you might wonder how posts regarding the Olympics or images of Boris Johnson hanging on a barbed wire could possibly promote your business but think about how you want your brand to come across; as real, full of emotion and passionate about anything and everything brand…the more realistic your page becomes, the more your brand will become the real deal and not that cold corporate shell that your competitor is so used to.

Bragging once in a while isn't too bad as long as it's inspirational. Has a member of staff achieved something? What about the business overall; has it made a charity donation or achieved anything else that could encourage a mass following? Any such thing along these lines can have a great impact on your overall image and you would be surprised how many people it can attract.

Try not to overdo it; it is important to find a decent balance between hourly posts and a post every other day but with a good balance of enticing material you can stay fresh in the minds of fellow members (and of course the search engines) without fear of scaring them away.

It is far too easy to neglect the importance of social media or worse, get carried away and scare off your audience but by taking the time to be a little creative you have the chance to really make the most of what is on offer….businesses can benefit greatly with nothing more than a little inspiration!
