There is no doubt that time is of the essence and more so, during a period in which economic struggle is highly evident.  Businesses must now be wise, and ensure to remain cautious and weary with every move they make…one wrong footing could cost even the largest corporations a great deal.

Throughout a time of increased competition and growing struggle; there comes no surprise as to the fact that businesses across the world are utilising online marketing to the maximum. With millions of consumers readily available on the first few pages of Google search results; a strong online marketing strategy can ensure that a business stays 'in the game'.

So we have established that online marketing is crucial however, we also know that time must be well spent in order to ensure a business, of any size, remain on the path to steady success but how can a business know what, if anything, is a worthy or futile attempt?

Let's consider social media marketing; an arena that has seen vast growth since Google's latest algorithm change and is now constantly thrust on businesses as a 'must have' but is it just as important as stated?

With an untoward lack of ROI; it can be easy to dismiss social media as a pointless exercise but believe it or not a strong social standing is a great way to not only increase your visibility to the search engines but to market yourself appropriately to your customers.

Here are our pin points of social media marketing that you may wish to consider…

  • It may be all too tempting to shrug off social media and push to outsource your profiles but that might not be the best move. Social media is one of a few chances you have to appear human, reach your audience and allow your customer's to familiarise themselves with your brand; who better to do that then you? If working with an external source then be sure they are the best as entrusting your brand identity into the hands of others can be a dangerous game.
  • If you feel as though your time is better spent then why not consider using an automated feeder? Try not to fully automate everything but by ensuring one feed hits across all your profiles; you can free up a great deal of time.
  • You would be surprised as to just how social profiles can work for you? By using analytics or even talking to your customers; you may find that a social profile could work wonders for your overall growth.

Using social media? Or deciding that you can live without it? It may seem futile, a time swallowing activity and with no direct ROI; a highly unattractive venture to the business owners and company Directors but give it time and you would be surprised as to just what can happen.
