Online marketing is the way to get noticed; it is as simple as that. In today's internet obsessed world; an optimised website, a social media presence and PPC advertising are now the main factors that stand between success and failure. Whatever the need may be, users now head straight for the internet when searching and businesses would be wise to keep that in mind; if you want more customers then you will need to make your business visible on the internet…it is as simple as that.

PPC advertising campaigns are a popular and highly effective way to boost rankings and increase revenue. The adverts appear on the top of organic search results and work on the basis that the company itself pays only when a potential customer clicks through; this is referred to as cost per click.

Once the user clicks on the add they will hopefully be taken to the correct landing page i.e. if you are advertising black curtains then then user should be taken to a well-structured and well laid out page advertising a great range of black curtains, fitted with descriptions and prices which will hopefully entice visitors into making a purchase. However if your landing page is not sufficient then you risk losing out on a potential sale i.e. if you advertise black curtains and your advert ends up taking the user straight to your home page you will not see success. Many companies may think they are playing clever by directing adverts to homepages and exposing their entire website however you must remember that the user typed in a specific keyword for a reason so in this case if someone has typed in 'black curtains' then that is what they are after so ensure your advertisement is catered to this or your customer will get bored and frustrated and leave your site; leaving your business out of pocket.

If your landing page is at the highest quality then your conversion rate (i.e. the amount of people who click through to your page and become customers) increases rapidly and therefore the charge your business receives is referred to as cost per acquisition (CPA)  ; so for each user that fills out a form or purchases a product; your business will be required to pay a cost and in the ideal world this will be as low as possible but can only be so if your landing page is at its best…your user searched for something because that is what they are after; offer it  to them in the best way possible and they will be more likely to purchase it.

The costs involved in a PPC campaign will require immense understanding and skill which is why it is vital to ensure that you consult an online marketing specialist to determine that your budget is being spent wisely and is achieving the best results.

Do it right and the return on your investment will leave you smiling.
